I think it is just in our human nature to be competitive and want to be better than others. World peace, utopia, and all these dreams can only be achieved when everyone has equal power. Take Cosmo for example, if everyone has lots of rbs and has all the best items, no one would be competitive enough to try better and go rb more. People just apply for GMs, but what happens wen everyone is a head GM (ignore owners)? everyone will probably be just chilling and its peaceful. On the other hand, if there is competition going on....just imagine the beefs that can happen!
So, I do not think world peace is an achievable goal since there is always something people can get competitive about, which would destroy the balance of peace. But come on, can everyone be in power and in charge? No. But we still need these people who are "better" than others in one particular field to lead the others, which is why we specialize in something.
Maybe one day, all countries have the same amount of military power and the idea of peace is passed on for a couple of more generations THEN a "Fake" world peace might be possible if more than 90% of the people in the world has the same living conditions.

but Utopia's couldn't really occur because like you said "competition" the human race is always competitive. from when we were babies.
even though we want everything to be equal. it could never happen[IMO]. because someone has to take charge and be a leader to the pack/city/state..etc.

but i still see that money makes people do craziest things (even hurting those who are close to you).

ie:
Micheal Jackson, he was only accused for his money (i still believe he is innocent); people want to obtain a certain political standing, they could bribe for a job/position (in China, Vietnam, USA,...etc); the list can go on...

people tend to get power hungry when they in command so long (in Egypt forexample), but competition occurs and rebellion occurs.

i mean look at banks, they take almost everyone's money. nothing bad happens (usually). or things can lead to scams
